3. Warm Up • MATCHING : Match each picture with the correct word. a medicated oil : dầu thoa water pack : túi chườm b emergency room c : phòng cấp cứu rubbing alcohol : cồn 900 : bông vô trùng d cotton wool bandage : băng e f
4. Warm Up • What would you do in these situations which require first-aid ? a. A girl has a burn on her arm. Cool the burn with ice or cold water. b. A boy has a bad cut on his leg. Clean the wound with alcohol then use a bandage to cover the wound. c. A girl has a nose bleed. Raise her head back, use cotton wool to stop the bleeding. d. A boy has a bee sting. Wash the sting then apply some medicated oil on the sting.

7. III. Practice • Answer the questions. 1. Who is talking ? A girl student is talking with a nurse on the phone. 2. Where are they ? The nurse is at Bach Mai Hospital . The girl is at Quang Trung school. 3. What happened ? A student is hurt. She fell off her bike and hit her head on the road.
8. III. Practice • GAP-FILL: Fill in the blanks with correct words from the dialogue. There was an emergency at Lan’s school. A student (1) fell off her bike and (2) hit her head on the road. She was (3) conscious but she had a bad cut on her head and the (4) bleeding was bad. Lan (5) phoned Bach Mai hospital and asked the nurse to send an (6) ambulance to Quang Trung school. Lan was asked to keep the student (7) awake while waiting (8) for the ambulance.
