Aims and Objectives By the end of the lesson, SS will be able to pronounce correctly the sounds /∫/ and /s/ in isolation and in context; Use the lexical items related to the topic “Our Tet holiday”. II. Language focus - Vocab: things and activities about Tet. - Pronunciation: /∫/,/ s/. III. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s aids: Board, course book, cassette, CD, posters, pictures 2. Students’ aids: student book, notebook, stick notes. IV. Anticipated problems There may not be enough time for all the activities. V. Procedure Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I.Warm up: Network Decorate house Activities for Tet *Possible answer: Visit pagoda, receive or give lucky money, see -Work in groups firework, visit relatives, send cards, cook delicious meal. II.Presentation 1.Pre-teach vocab - wish (v) : mong ước - furniture (n) : đồ đạt trong nhà -Listen and repeat in - present ( n) : quà chorus and individually - relative (n): họ hàng , bà con -Copy all the words - pagoda (n) : chùa - calendar (n) : tờ lịch -Listen and repeat in - special food ( n) : thức ăn đặc biệt chorus *Check: R.O.R 2.Listen and repeat the words in the box

Spring is coming.  IV.Production -Listen and repeat in Listen and practice reading the poem. chorus - Ask Ss to listen to the poem and practice reading it. -Practise in pairs - Ask them to pay more attention to the key words with -Take note /s/ and /∫/ sounds. Then asks some volunteers to stand up and read the poem aloud V.Homework - Prepare for the next lesson: Unit 6: Closer look 2. - Do exercise A1, 2 (p.40), B1, 2(P.40, 41) -WB.
