By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Write a speech about saving energy and other school-related topics. - Use the connectives: and, but, because, or, so, therefore, howerver and some phrasal verbs. II. Knowledge 1. A speech usually has three parts: Một bài diễn văn thường thường gồm ba phần - Introduction: Phần mở đầu/ lời tựa. Getting people’s attention and telling them what you are going to talk about: Thu hút sự chú ý của mọi người và nói với họ điều bạn muốn nói. - Body: Phần thân bài/ nội dung chính. Giving details in-easy-to understand language: Đưa ra các chi tiết bằng ngôn ngữ dễ hiểu. - Conclusion: Phần kết luận. Summing up what you have said: Tóm tắt lại điều bạn vừa nói. 2. Connectives. and (và): dùng để thêm thông tin bổ sung or (hoặc): diễn tả sự lựa chọn but (nhưng): nối hai ý tương phản nhau so (vì thế, do đó): diễn tả hậu quả therefore (vì thế, do đó): đồng nghĩa với so, chỉ hậu quả however (tuy nhiên): diễn tả sự tương phản, đồng nghĩa với but 3.
