Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. - Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. - Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. - Warmer: Greetings and playing a game. - Greeting class and playing the game: Bingo - Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students ask and answer questions about the weather in each season and lead students to the new lesson. Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.) - Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 54. Focus their attention on the pictures and ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. Point to each picture and ask: who is this? - Tell ss that they are going to listen to the dialogue between Nam and Peter. They are on the balcony. They talk about the summer weather in their countries. Use a poster and two puppets to present the situation. Play the recording again all the way through for ss to listen. - Play the recording again for ss to repeat each line in the speech bubbles as they point to it. - Have one ss repeat Nam’s part, and Peter’s part. Repeat the step, but this time have the group swap their parts. Have the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.) - Have ss look at the pictures in their books on page 54, run through the pictures then say: We are going to practice asking and answering questions about seasons and weather, using What’s .like in your country?
