  1. Week:11 Teaching date: 26 / 11 / 2021 Period: 60 UNIT 10: WHAT DO YOU DO AT BREAK TIME? Lesson 1: 1-3 A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Ask and answer questions about what the other speaker does at break-time. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation. - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Ss love English more. - Keep safe when they play games - Do exercise more. 4. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: badminton, football, basketball, chess, table tennis 6. Grammar point: What do you do at break time? ̶ I play ___. B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards. 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, notebooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) - Ask ss to play the game of Slap the board, using the vocabulary learnt. - Listen and give comments. I. Presentation. 1. Vocabulary: - Get pupils to open their books on Page 64. - Show vocabularies on the screen to introduce some sport activities: badminton, football, basketball, chess, table tennis. - Have pupils look at the pictures on page 64. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures.
  2. - Present the situation. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Call on 2 pairs to perform at the front of the class. - Have whole class repeat each line of the dialogue in chorus. 2. Introduction model sentences - Tell ss that they are going to practice asking and answering the question What do you do at break time? - Have ss look at the pictures on page 64 - Point to picture a. Ask ss to guess what each character should say. - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. II. Practice Task 3. Let’s talk. - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 64. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. III.Production * Playing “ Big win” game: - Show the game on the screen. - Explain the game and how to play: there are 10 questions. Each question has 3 options. - Divide the class into two teams. Each correct answer is added points. - At the end of the game the team that has more points will win. D. HOME-LINK (2’) - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures

Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Express their likes and dislikes of a sport or a game. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation. - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Love sports - Solidarity with friends 4. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: skipping, skating, hide-and-seek, blind man’s bluff 6. Grammar point: Do you like ___? ̶ Yes, I do. / ̶ No, I don’t. B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards. 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, notebooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) - Call a few ss to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. - Give comments. I. Presentation. Task 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Have Ss open their books page 66. - Show some activities on the screen to introduce: skipping, skating, hide-and-seek, blind man’s bluff . - Tell ss that they are going to talk about the activities they like at break time, using Do you like+(activity)? - Draw ss’ attention to the first picture and elicit the activities in the picture. - Explain what they say. - Use 2 puppets to present the situation.
  4. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss work in pairs to practice the dialogues. - Monitor the activity. II. Practice Task 2. Point and say. - Have pupils look at each the picture. - Ask pupils to identify the activities - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. Task 3. Let’s talk. - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 66. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the dialogue. III.Production * Play “Rabbit and Turtle” game. - T shows the game on the screen.There are 8 sentences. - T guides ss to play the game: click on the rabbit if you choose true, click on the turtle if you choose false. D. HOME-LINK - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures
