INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3, Student’s book page 10 - Track (Unit 11-page 10), - letter br in the word brother and letter gr in the word grandmother. Then Call 2 ss to the front of the class to ask and answer questions about the ages of their family members. - Tell students that Tell Ss that they are going to review phrases of saying brother and grandmother Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Listen and repeat.) - Have Ss open their books page 10. - Tell Ss that they are going to review phrases of saying brother and grandmother. - Produce the sound of the letter br in the words brother and that of the letter gr in the word grandmother. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Listen and write. - Have Ss open their books to page 10. - Get Ss to talk about the way to do the task. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and write the missing words in dialogues 1 and 2. - Listen and check answer. - Ask Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction. - Ask 3-4 Ss to read their answers aloud to the class - Listen and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat each line of the dialogues. Task 2: Let’s chant. How old is he? - Ask Ss to look at the chant in their books. - Play the tape and ask Ss to listen. - Play the tape again. - Ask Ss to practice singing in groups. - Call on one group to perform the chant at the front of the class Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Pronounce the initial letter clusters br in brother, and gr in grandfather.) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? Who are they? (Linda and Mai) 2. Where are they? (in the house) 3. What are they doing?( talking about a house.) - Ask students to look at picture b (Activity 1) (page 12) and answer the following questions: 4. What does Linda say? (There’s a garden) 5. What does Mai say? (It’s very nice.) - Elicit the sentence patterns: “There’s _______. ̶ It’s very nice.” - Tell students that they are going to practice talking about house facilities using There is a + (house facilities). - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with There is a + (house facility) - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in Student Book. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Task 2:Let’s talk - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures. - Elicit the words to fill the gap. - Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times. - Get ss to work in pairs. - Go around the class and help when ss necessary. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (talk about age of one of the other speaker’s family and use the sentence pattern “How old is your ? He’s/she’s. ”to ask and answer about others’ family memembers ) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (show pride of thier family and love it.) - Remind students to prepare for the next lesson Self-study: lesson 2(5-6)
