OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. identify the situation for the conversation between Nam and Tony (setting, participants, topics); 2. Identify rooms in the house and can ask a house using the sentence patterns : Is there a _______. ̶ Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t. 3. Keep their house clean ; Love their house B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: Is there a _______. ̶ Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t. - Vocabulary: pond, yes / gate, yes / yard, yes / fence, no C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3, Student’s book page 14 - Track (Unit 12-page 14), - 4 pictures of rooms and garden (Activity 2 – page 14) - Situational pictures and character cards - a computer and a projector. - - Give comments - Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students talk about a house Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.) - Ask students to look at the two pictures (page 14) and answer questions to identify the situation for the conversation. 1. Who are they? (Nam and Tony) 2. Where are they? (in the house) 3. What are they doing?( talking about a house.) - Ask students to look at picture a (Activity 1) (page 14) and answer the following questions: 4. What does Nam say? (Is there a garden?) 5. What does Tony say? (Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t.) - Elicit the sentence patterns: “Is there a _______. ̶ Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t.” - Tell students that they are going to practice talking about house facilities using :Is there a _______. ̶ Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Tell ss that they are going to practise saying sentences with Is there a _______. ̶ Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t - Ask Ss fill in the speech bubbles. - Ask Ss to repeat. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs asking and answering, using the pictures in Student Book. - Monitor the activity. - Call on a pair to perform. Task 2:Let’s talk - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Give a few seconds for ss to look at the pictures. - Elicit the words to fill the gap. - Write the instructions on the board and get ss to repeat them a few times. - Get ss to work in pairs. - Go around the class and help when ss necessary. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (talk about age of one of the other speaker’s family and use the sentence pattern “t Is there a _______. ̶ Yes, there is/ No, there isn’t” to ask and answer about someone’s house) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson?

Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words kitchen and bathroom.; Say the chant: there a garden? 3. Keep their house clean ; Love their house B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words kitchen and bathroom. - Say the chant: there a garden? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 3, Student’s book page 16 - Track (Unit 12-page 16), - letter letters ch and th in the words: kitchen and bathroom. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Listen and write. - Have Ss open their books to page 16. - Get Ss to talk about the way to do the task. - Tell Ss that they are going to listen and write the missing words in dialogues 1 and 2. - Listen and check answer. - Ask Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction. - Ask 3-4 Ss to read their answers aloud to the class - Listen and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat each line of the dialogues. Task 2: Let’s chant. Is there a garden? - Ask Ss to look at the chant in their books. - Play the tape and ask Ss to listen. - Play the tape again. - Ask Ss to practice singing in groups. - Call on one group to perform the chant at the front of the class Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Pronounce the initial letter clusters ch in kitchen, and th in bathroom.) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson?
