- Teaching date: 21 / 09 / 2021 Week: 2 Period: 2 UNIT 1: HELLO Lesson 1: 1- 3 A.OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Introduction. - Greet others and introduce themselves. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest 4. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: hi, hello,I’m, Miss, Nice to meet you 6. Grammar point: Hello/Hi. I’m + (name). B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards, balls 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, noterbooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) - T plays a song “Hello” for ss to watch -Ss sing along the song and do actions. *New lesson
- - Greet the class by saying Hello. Encourage pupils to answer with Hello. Repeat the procedure several times. Then introduce yourself to the class by pointing to yourself and say: I’m Miss Hien. Go around the class and say your name to different pupils. Help individuals respond with Hello. I’m + (his/her name). Draw pupils’ attention to the title of the unit and check their comprehension. Have them repeat it once or twice. - Teacher tells the class the objects of the lesson. I. Presentation 1.Teach vocabulary:(6’) - T says Hello/ Hi and introduce herself : I’m Miss Hien ,then write it on the board ,use chalk draw new words to present ( Hello, Hi, I’m, Nice to meet you) - Have students listen to each new word. - Show the pictures of the part 1.Look,listen and repeat on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Play audio, and point to each picture for students to listen - Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Have students work in pairs to read play role. - Call some pairs to read in front of the class. 2. Introduce sentence pattern: (6’) - Tell pupils that they are going to practise saying Hello/Hi. I’m + (name) and responding to the greeting. Point to each character in the picture part 2. Point and say and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the gaps. Write the whole sentences on the board. Have pupils repeat the sentences a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture. Do choral and individal repetition, using the characters’ names as prompts, until pupils feel confident to say the sentences without their books. Call an open pair to the front of the class to give a model practice for the class to watch. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary. Get pupils to work in pairs. Check as a class.
- II. Practice • Let’s talk: (6’) - Tell pupils that they are going to practise more with their friends. Point to each character eliciting the name. Ask pupils to guess what the children say. Fill the gaps and write the sentences on the board. Get pupils to repeat the sentences a few times. - Get pupils to work in pairs or groups of three to interact. - Call a few pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary. III. Production(5’) “Ball Circle” game - Divide the class into groups of 5-10. Each group sits in a circle. Give each group a ball. - One child says, “Hello.I’m (Mai)” and throws the ball to another child who response “ Hi,(Mai) I’m (Linh) and throws the ball to another child. - Continue until every child has had a turn. D. HOME-LINK (2’) - Practise greeting and introducing themselves. - Prepare Unit 1.Lesson 1: 4-6

Quality: - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest 4. Skills: Listening and writing skills 5. Vocabulary: hi, hello,I’m, Miss, Nice to meet you 6. Grammar point: How are you? and I’m fine, thanks. And you? Goodbye/Bye! B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards, balls 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, noterbooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’)
- - Calling some individuals to come to the front to greet the class and say their names. The class responds by saying Hi + (his/her name), and then say goodbye to them. - Get the class to sing the Hello song. I. Presentation 1. Teach vocabulary (6’) - Use pictures to introduce the new words (bye, goodbye). - Explain some words( how, fine, thanks/thank you, and you) - Have students listen to each new word. - Show the pictures of the part 1. Look, listen and repeat on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Play audio, and point to each picture for students to listen . - Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Have students work in pairs, read in play role. - Call some pairs to read before the class. - Organize for students to play the game "Heads up. What's missing?" game - Divide the class into two teams. - Arrange the flashcards on the board and remove one card when students are not looking. - One student from each team calls out the missing flashcard. 2. Introduce sentence pattern (6’) - Have students look at the picture, identify characters - Ask some questions about the picture, part 2.Point and say - Introduce the situation. Tell pupils that they are going to practise saying How are you? and replying with Fine, thanks/ thank you. - Draw pupils’ attention to the pictures. Point to each character and elicit his/her name. - Point to the first picture and elicit the words to fill the gaps. Put the sentences on the board. - Divide the class into two groups to do choral and individual repetition. Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Get pupils to work in pairs. Check as a class.

Practice * Let’s talk (7’) - Tell the class that they are going to practise more with their friends, using their own names. - Draw pupils’ attention to the pictures and elicit the language that the characters might use. - Elicit the words to fill the gaps. Put the sentences on the board and do choral and individual repetition. - Get pupils to work in pairs. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. III. Production(5’) *Role play - Have students work in pairs and guide them how to make a conversation. E.g: S1: Hi, (I’m Nam) S2: Hello, (Nam).I’m (Hoa) S1: How are you? S2: I’m fine, thanks And you? S1: Fine, thank you. S2: Goodbye,Nam. S1: Bye, Hoa. -Have some pairs demonstrate in front of the class. D. HOME-LINK(2’) - Practise asking and answering questions How are you? - Prepare Unit 1.Lesson 2: 4-6.
