Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: (Cognition, Skill, Attribute, and Competence) 1. Identify the situation for the conversation dialogue between Mai and Nam asking and answering what toys the other speaker likes (setting, participants, topics). 2. Use the words and phrases related to the topic Toys; can ask and answer questions about what toys the other speaker likes, using: What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______. 3. Show respect and love your toys by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about toys. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Key terms/ Vocabulary trucks, dolls, kites, planes Key grammatical structure What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______. C. Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.) - Tell Ps that they are going to ask and answer the question about what toys the other speaker likes, using What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______. - Give a few seconds for pupils look at the second picture and elicit what the characters are saying. Check comprehension. - Give the meaning of unfamiliar words and have Ps repeat the language a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording for Ps to listen and saying along. Sentence patterns: What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.) - Tell Ps look at part two and ask: How many pictures are there? (four pictures) Point to each picture and elicit the meaning of new words. Trucks: Xe tải (số nhiều) Dolls: con búp bê (số nhiều) Kites: Diều (số nhiều) Planes: Máy bay (số nhiều) - Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and point to first picture and elicit the word to fill the gap.

Let’s talk) - Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. - Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Check their understanding and give feedback. - Pointing to each toy and elicit the word filling the gap. - Put the sentence and the response on the board and have a pair act out the dialogue as an example before starting the activity. - Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition. • Example: What toys do you like? I like planes. - Have Ps work in pairs, Using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, If necessary. - Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Activity 3: Wrap –up & Assignments - T asks Ss about what they have learnt in their lesson today. 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? - Ask and answer the questions about what toys the other speaker likes, using What toys do you like? ̶ I like _______. 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (Show respect and love your toys by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about toys) - Remind students to learn by heat vocabulary, sentence patterns and do part 4, 5, 6. - Prepare Unit 17: Lesson 2

One repeat Nam’s part and the other repeat Linda’s part. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along line by line.
