- WEEK:3 Teaching date: 28 / 09 / 2021 Period: 8 UNIT 2: WHAT’S YOUR NAME? Lesson 1: 1- 3 A.OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Indentify some names of the book’s characters. - Ask and answer about one’s name. - Express their concern about others’ names. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest 4. Skills: Listening and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: my, your, name, what 6. Grammar point: What’s your name? – My name’s ... B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards, balls 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, noterbooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) - T plays a song “Hello” for ss to watch
- -Ss sing along the song and do actions. *New lesson - Greet the class by saying Hello. How are you? Encourage pupils to answer with Hello, Miss/ Mr + (name). I’m fine, thanks. And you? - Go to one pupil and say My name’s + (name). What’s your name? - Have him/her answer with his/her name. - Repeat the procedure a few times. - Draw pupils’ attention to the title of the unit and check their comprehension. - Have them repeat it once or twice. - Teacher tells the class the objects of the lesson. I. Presentation 1.Teach vocabulary:(6’) - T says Hello/ Hi and introduce herself : My name’s Miss Hien ,then write it on the board ,use chalk draw new words to present ( My name). - Show pictures on the screen to present new words (my, your, name, what ). - Have students listen to each new word. - Show the pictures of the part 1.Look,listen and repeat on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Tell pupils that they are going to ask someone’s name. - Point to the first picture and elicit the names of the characters and what they say. - Explain the dialogue and have pupils repeat the text in the bubbles a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording for pupils to listen and say along. - Have students work in pairs to read play role. - Call some pairs to read in front of the class. 2. Introduce sentence pattern: (6’) - Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering the question : What’s your name? My name’s .. - Draw pupils’ attention to the pictures. - Point to each character and elicit his/her name and what each character says. - Elicit the word to fill the gap. - Write the question and the answer on the board and have pupils repeat them once or twice. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- - Do choral and individal repetition, using the characters’ names. - Get pupils to work in pairs. Check as a class. II. Practice *Let’s talk: (6’) - Tell pupils that they are going to practise more with their friends. Point to each character eliciting the name. Ask pupils to guess what the children say. Fill the gaps and write the sentences on the board. Get pupils to repeat the sentences a few times. - Get pupils to work in pairs or groups of three to interact. - Call a few pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary. III. Production (5’) * Playing archery game: - Show the game on the screen. - Explain the game and how to play: there are 7 questions - Divide the class into two teams. Each team choose the question to answer.If they choose the correct answer , they will shoot an arrow on the target. - Continue until every child has had a turn. D. HOME-LINK (2’) - Ask and answer about one’s name with their family - Prepare Unit 2.Lesson 1: 4-6 WEEK;3 Teaching date: 28 / 09 / 2021
- Period :10 UNIT 2: WHAT’S YOUR NAME? Lesson 2 :1-3 A.OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Revise the words and phrases related to the topic Introduction. - Practice listening and writing skills about greeting others and introducing themselves - Express Ss' care about each other. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Hardworking - Responsible - Honest 4. Skills: Listening and writing skills 5. Vocabulary: the alphabet, how, do you, and spell 6. Grammar point: How do you spell your name? − (N A M). B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards, balls 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, noterbooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) * Play game “ Cat and Dog” -T shows the game on the screen :there are ten questions
- - Guide how to play: ss look at the picture and choose the correct answer I. Presentation Task 1: Look, listen and repeat - Have Ss open their books page 14. - Teach the new phrases How do you spell + name? - Show Ss how to spell Nam, Linda and some other names. - Place the large piece of paper with the dialogue written on it on the board. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Ask ss practice in pairs. II. Practice Task 2. Point and say. - Ask Ss practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs to practice. - Have the whole class spell all the names. -Give pupils time to do the task and go around to offer help, if necessary. -Get pupils to work in pairs. -Get pupils to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. -Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud each character’s lines respectively. Task 3:Let’s talk - Have pupils look at each of the pictures on page 14. - Ask pupils to identify the character in the pictures. - Guide Ss to do the task. - Get ss practice in groups. - Monitor the activity III. Production *Play “ Mario- playing tennis” game. -T shows the game on the screen. - Divide the class into two teams. -Guide ss how to play the game: There are 9 questions. If you choose the correct answer, you will hit the ball.
