Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Identify school things. - Introduce school thing. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation. - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Love their school things - Keep your school things clean and tidy. 4. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: pen, rubber, ruler, pencil case, school bag, pencil sharpener, notebook, crayon, coloured pencil, correction pen, ballpoint pen . 6. Grammar point: This is my pen. That is my . B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards. 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, notebooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) * Reorder the letter Ygm . Csohol . Lpyagournd . Labriyr Who is faster who is a winner I. Presentation. 1. Teach vocabulary: - Get pupils to open their books on Page 52 and read the title. - Show pictures to introduce the new words: pen, rubber, ruler, pencil case, school bag, pencil sharpener, notebook, crayon, coloured pencil, correction pen, ballpoint pen . - Have students listen and repeat to each new word.
- - Have some students read the new words in front of the class. -Have the class look at the pictures of the part 1. Look, listen and repeat on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Elicit the character and have Ss guess what they are saying. - Have Ss listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles - Play the recording again for Ss to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles two times. - Divide the class into two groups. One repeat Linda’s part and the other repeat robot’ part. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs to act out the dialogue. - Go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. Ask other pupils to give comments. - Give comments. 2. Introduce sentence pattern: (6’) - Tell the class that they are going to practice introduce about school things using: * Structure: This is my . That is my . - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 52. - Ask pupils to identify the school facilities in the pictures. - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. II. Practice * Let’s talk. - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 52. - Tell ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. - Point to the first picture and ask Ss to guess what they say. - Ask Ss fill the speech bubbles. - Have Ss repeat the sentences in the bubbles. - Ask ss to work in pairs. - Monitor the activity.
- - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to act out the sentences. III.Production *Play “Sunflower” game. - Divide the class into four teams. - Each student takes out a small chalkboard, rag and a piece of chalk. - Show the game on the screen. There are 8 questions. Each question has 4 options. - Give the students fifteen seconds to write down A, B, C or D. - When the time is up, all the students hold up the chalkboards. - Give the team which has all the correct answers one flower. - The team that gets the most flowers wins. - Continue in the same way.
