Vocabulary: - Vocabulary related to the topics : Unit1-> Unit 6 - Sounds: /əʊ/, /ʌ/, /z /, /s/, /iz/, /i:/,/ i/. II. Grammar: 1. Tenses of verbs: - The present simple tense , The present continuous tense . 2. Structures: - There is (not)/ There are (not) - Prepositions of place - Comparative of adjectives / Superlative of adjectives - Modal verb: must/mustn’t; should/ shouldn’t for advice; will/won’t to talk about intentions II. Exercise: 1. Phonetics: Choose the word whose underlined part is pronounced differently 2. Listen and choose the best answer. 4. Find the odd one out. 5. Complete the sentences as suggested. 6. Rewrite the sentences without changing the meaning. 7. Read the passage and choose the best answer. 8. Read the passage and answer the questions. 9. Find out the mistakes. 10. Put the verbs in the brackets into the correct tense. III. Topic for speaking: 1. Talking about your school. -What is your school’s name? -What is your school’s address? -How many students does the school have? -What activities do you do at school? 2. Vocabulary: - Vocabulary related to the topic: Music and arts, food and drinks, hobbies, health, community service and the first university in Vietnam. II. Grammar: 1. Tenses - The present continuous tense, the simple present, the simple future, the past simple tense, the present perfect tense. 2. Structures - Verbs of liking: like, love, enjoy, hate - Connectors /Conjunctions: and, but, because / because of/ so, though/although/ even though - Passive voice - Giving advice: had better, should - Prepositions of time: in, on, at 3. Phonetics - Sounds: /ỗ/ and /∂/; /f/ and /v/; /g/ and /k/; /tʃ/ and /ʓ/; /ʃ/ and /dʓ/. II. Exercise 1. Phonetics: Choose the word whose underlined part is pronounced differently 2. Structures: - Complex sentences, adverb clause of result, reasons, concession. - Phrasal verbs - Comparison of adj, adv - Reported speech - Question words before to- infinitive - Used to – Be/get used to Ving - Wishes for the present - Passive voice - Suggest+ Ving / clause with should - Adjective +to V/that clause. II. EXERCISES 1. Phonetics: Pronunciation / stress 2. Choose the best word to complete the sentence 3. Find the mistakes 4. Word form, Verb form 5. Rewrite the sentences 6. Complete the sentences 7. Tenses: past simple tense, past continuous tense, present perfect tense. 2. Structures: - Verbs of liking: +Verbs of liking + to infinitives + Verbs of liking + gerunds - Comparative forms of adverbs - Article: a/an/the - Compound sentences with coordinators: but, so, for, or, yet, - Compound sentences with conjunctive adverbs : however, nevertheless, moreover, therefore, otherwise - Complex sentences with when, while, because, although, even though, if 3.
