- Week: 12 Date of teaching: 03/11/2021 Period: 62 UNIT 10. WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY? Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what someone did in the past. - Sentence Patterns: What did you do yesterday? − I ___. - Vocabulary: played badminton, painted a picture, watered the flowers 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love their class - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, projector 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. A .Warm-up : - Ask sts to sing the song “ Where were you yesterday?”. - Lead in the new lesson. B. New Lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask sts to look at the pictures then run through and set the scene. - Give instruction. - Open the cassette all the way through. - Ask sts to listen again and repeat the dialogue. - Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to play a role. - Have sts to do further practice in pairs. - Give feedback.
- - Provide some new words for sts to make a sense of the dialogue: help, visit. - Elicit the sentence pattern from sts:Where did you do yesterday? I played badminton. - Give examples. 2. Practice - Ask sts to turn to part 2 and look at the pictures. - Run through then give instruction. - Make model the pattern: T – St; St – T; S1 – S2. - Let sts practise in pairs with the given information, then practise freely by themselves. - Move around to offer help. - Call on some pairs to report. - Comment. C. Reinforcement - Give feedback. D. Lesson 2 (4, 5, 6) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what someone did in the past, using: What did you do yesterday? I +verb-ed. - Listen and number the pictures in the correct order. - Read and complete the conversations, using the pictures. - Play the game Pelmanism. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Listening, reading and speaking.
- 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love English - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about their class - Practise in pairs II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, projector 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. Listen and number - Let sts guess what are they going to do. - Give instruction. - Ask them to elicit the pictures. - Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen. - Replay for sts to listen and tick. - Play once more times for sts to check their answers. - Ask sts to compare with their partners. - Call on some sts to report. - Give feedback. Look and write - Ask sts to look at the table and tell what are they going to do. - Give instruction. - Remind sts to write the initial letter of the word of the days in capital letters. - Allow sts time to do the task independently.
