  1. Week:13 Teaching date: 06/ 12 / 2022 Period :49 UNIT 8: WHAT SUBJECTS DO YOU HAVE TODAY? Lesson 1: 3-5 A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Identify school subjects. - Ask and- a answer the questions about school subjects. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation. - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Love their class, love subjects - Have positive attitudes with subjects. - United friend. 4. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: Subject, Maths, Science, IT, Vietnamese, Art, Music, English. 6. Grammar point: What subjects do you have today? − I have ____. B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards. 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, notebooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) - Call a few pairs to the front of the class to ask and answer the question What subjects do you have today? - Lead into new lesson. I. Presentation. *Play " Pass the secret " game - Have the students sit in a circle. Show them that they have to whisper to the person next to them. Start the secret by whispering it to the student next to you, e.g. I have Vietnamese and Maths" Have the students pass the secret around the circle. The last student says the secret out loud. Compare how close it is to the original secret. If necessary, write the original secret on the board.

Listen and tick: - Have pupils look at the pictures on page 53. - Ask pupils to identify the school subjects in the pictures. - Guide Ss to do the task. - Play the tape. - Play the tape again. - Choose one or two Ss to share their answers with their classmates. - Replay the tape. - Have Ss to trade their answer in pairs for correction. * Key: 1.b 2.a 3.c Task 2. Look and write. - Have Ss open their book page 53. - Tell Ss that they are going to look at the pictures to identify the day and the school subjects and read the sentences and then write the completed sentences. - Ask ss to look, read and do the task. - Monitor the activity - Have Ss trade their answer in pair for correction. - Call on some Ss to report their answers. - Listen and give comments. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus. III.Production Task 3. Let’s sing. - Tell pupils that they are going to sing the What day is it today? song. - Get pupils to read the lyrics in silence. Check their comprehension. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the intonation of the song. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole song. - Then have them practice in groups. - Call on some groups to sing the song in front of the class. The rest of the class clap their hands at rhythms. D. HOME-LINK (2’) - Retell the content of the lesson. - Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures

PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) - Sing the song: What day is it today? - Lead in the new lesson. I. Presentation.
  4. Task 1. Look, listen and repeat: - Get pupils to open their books on Page 54 and read the title. -Have the class look at the pictures of the part 1. Look, listen and repeat on the projector and ask students to open the books. - Elicit the character and have Ss guess what they are saying. - Have Ss listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles - Play the recording again for Ss to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles two times. - Divide the class into two groups. One repeat Peter’s part and the other repeat Nam’ part. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs to act out the dialogue. - Go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. Ask other pupils to give comments. - Give comments. Task 2. Point and say: * Introduce sentence pattern - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about which days of the week we have subjects, using: When do you have English? I have it on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 54. - Ask pupils to identify which days of the week we have subjects in the pictures. - Use the first picture as an example and put the question and answer on the board. - Have Ss repeat the phrases a few times. - Ask Ss to practice in pairs. - Monitor the activity. - Call on some pairs (4-5 pairs) to perform the task at the front of the class. - Observe and give comments. - Have the whole class repeat all the dialogue. II. Practice Task 3. Let’s talk. - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 54. - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answer questions about school timetables, using: - What subjects do you have today?
  5. - When do you have .? - Who is your . teacher? - Explain the questions if necessary. - Have Ss to work in pairs to practice . - Call on a pair to demonstrate at the front of the class. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation III.Production * Play “ Bees looking for honey” game. - Show the game on the screen. - Explain the game and how to play: there are 8 questions. Each question has 4 options. - Divide the class into two teams. The bee will look for honey if the team chooses the correct answer. - At the end of the game the team that has more points will win. D. Knowledge: By the end of this period, students will be able to: - Pronounce the sounds of the letters ct and cts in the words ruler and these respectively. - Review asking and answering the questions about school subjects. 2. Competences: - Problems solving and creation. - Communication and cooperation - Self-learning, independent working and pair work, group work - Linguistic competence 3. Quality: - Love their class, love subjects and love teachers. - United friend 4. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking skills 5. Vocabulary: review Lesson 1,2 6. Grammar point: review Lesson 1,2 B. TEACHING AIDS 1. Teacher’s aids: Teacher’s book, chalk, board, ruler, projector/TV, laptop and flashcards. 2. Students’ aids: Students’ books, workbooks, notebooks C. PROCEDURES *Warm-up: (5’) *Ring the golden bell. -T shows the questions on the screen. - Ask the class to use the board to write their answer. -Student who has the most correct answers will be the winner. I. Presentation. 1. Phonics: - Get pupils to open their books on Page 56. - Tell Ss that they are going to review phrases of saying subject and subjects. - Produce the sound of the letter ct in the word subject and cts in the word subjects.

Let’s chant. - Show the What subjects do you have today? chant. - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are reading the chant in their books - Have Ss circle all the words containing the focused sounds in the chant. - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on a group to recite the chant. - Have the whole class read to reinforce their pronunciation. III.Production *Play " Pass the secret " game - Have the students sit in a circle. Show them that they have to whisper to the person next to them. Start the secret by whispering it to the student next to you, e.g. " I have Maths, Music and Art" Have the students pass the secret around the circle. The last student says the secret out loud.
