- Monday, December 19th, 2022 Week 15 Period 57 Unit 9: What are they doing? Lesson 2: 4 - 6 A. Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice the question about what people are doing. - Develop Ss listening and writing skills * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - When do you have PE? - I have it on * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Play the game Ring Golden Bell - Show on overhead the questions, sts choose the correct answer -> write on sts’ boards (7 multiple choice questions which focus on form of model sentences, meaning of vocabulary) II. New lesson: 1. Listen and number: - Have pupils look at the pictures a, b, c and d on page 61 of the Student Book. - Get sts the information in 4 pictures - Give feedback - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and match the information they hear to the pictures by numbering the boxes. - Play the recording twice for pupils to listen and number the boxes. - Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Look and write: - Have pupils look at the pictures given. - Ask pupils to say what they are doing in the pictures -> read them aloud - Get sts about the order of the ex - Have pupils to write the answer for the questions what they are doing - Call on 4 pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in their notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils trade their answers within in pairs for correction. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board.
- - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. - Have the class chorally read each sentence. - Give feedback * Answer key: 1. They’re painting masks. 2. They’re making kites. 3. They’re making paper planes. 4. They’re making a house. III. Consolidation: a. Reading: - Have sts practice asking and answering the task done b. Let’s sing: - Introduce the song “What are they doing?” - Play the recording and listen the song. - Play the recording again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm. - Call on a group of six to the front of the class and do the actions. - The others clap their hands after the song - Group work. Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups. - Monitor the activity and help them when necessary. Correct pronunciation Ss’ errors. - Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm. - Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation. Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 Week 15 Period 58 Unit 9: What are they doing? Lesson 3: 1 - 3 A. Aim: - Ss will be able to practise practice 2 sounds /sk/ and /xt/; practice with their sounds in two words “mask” and “text” - Ss will be able to chant together - Develop Ss listening, speaking and chanting skills * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Sing again “What are they doing?” song II. New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat:
- Have pupils open their books at page 62 - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sounds /sk/ and /xt/ in the words mask, text - Produce the sound /sk/, and /xt/ a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear these sounds. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Ask sts to find out some words that end with “sk” and “xt” Ex: - sk: desk, - xt: 2. Listen and tick. Then write and say aloud: - Have pupils look the sentences with pairs of words given. - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 4 sentences and tick the words they hear to complete the 4 sentences - Play the recording twice pupils to listen and tick. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: Answer: 1- 2- 3 – 4 - - Have pupils read aloud the sentences. 3. Let’s chant: What’s he doing? - Put the piece of paper with the chant from 62 written on it on the board. - Tell pupils that they are going to chant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. III. Consolidation: - Summary the lesson - Do exercises E in workbook, learn by heart the new words Thursday, December 22th, 2022 Week 15 Period 59 Unit 9: What are they doing? Lesson 3: 4 - 6 A. Aims: - Ss will be able to practice with activities that sts are doing at break time and in an Art lesson. - Develop Ss reading, writing and skills * Language focus:
- Vocabulary: revision Sentence partern: He/ She is Ving They’re Ving * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Recite the chant: What’s he doing? II. New lesson: 1. Read and tick: - Have pupils open their books at Page 63 - Tell pupils that they are going to read the passage to get the information. - Pupils read the passage individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts read the sentences given and tick True/ False: 1. We are doing exercises in the school gym. 2. Phong is skipping. 3. Linda and Peter are playing badminton. 4. Nam and Tom are skipping. 5. Quan and Peter are playing tennis. - Sts do the task - Get the answer from sts - Give feedback * Answer key: 1. F 2. F 3. F 4. T 5. F 5. Write about the pictures: - Have pupils look at the picture given - Ask them some questions about what people are doing in the picture - Get sts’ ideas - Give feedback and contribute - Show the passage, ask sts to write to describe what they are doing - Pupils write individually - Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. * Suggested answer: It is Monday today. We are having an Art lesson. The teacher is drawing a mask on the board. The girls are paiting masks and making puppets. 6. Project: The boys are making a kite and drawing houses.
- Add a photo of your family. Then tell the class what your family members are doing in the photo - Explain how they can do - Model - Sts darw and then come to the board and tell class what their family members are doing in the picture. III. Consolidation: Summary the lesson - Do exercise F in workbook. Friday, December 23rd, 2022 Week 15 Period 60 Unit 10: Where were you yesterday? Lesson 1: 1 + 2 A.Aims: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about where someone was in the past. - Develop Ss speaking skill * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - Where were you yesterday? - I was at home. - Words: were, was * Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Questions: How are you? How old are you? Where are you from? II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: • Whole class: Have pupils turn their books to Page 64 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play.

The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. - Make a few questions to check pupils' comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus 3.
