OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: (Cognition, Skill, Attribute, and Competence) 1. identify the situation for the conversation between Mai, Nam and Trung (setting, participants, topics); 2. ask and answer their friends about someone’s address, using the sentence patterns “ What’s your address?It’s ..”; 3. show interests and love to their friends by using using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about addresses.   2. answers STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Greeting and watching - Greet the students. Then get the class to watch a video about numbers from - Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students ask and answer questions about addresses and lead students to the new lesson. Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.) - Ask students to look at the four pictures (page 6) and answer questions to identify the situation for the conversation. 1. Who are they? (They are Mai, Nam and Trung) 2. Where are they? (At school) 3. What are they doing? ( talking about their addresses.) - Ask students to look at picture d (Activity 1) (page 6) and answer the following questions: 4. What does Mai ask? (What’s your address?) 5. What does Trung answer? (It’s 81, Tran Hung Dao street.) - Elicit the sentence patterns: What’s your address? It’s .. - Tell students that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about someone’s address. - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.) - Use pictures to elicit: a.105, Hoa Binh lane. b.97 Village Road. c.75 Hai Ba Trung Street. d.Flat 8, second floor, City Tower. - Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the expressions in the bubbles and the word under the picture. Teacher: What’s your address? Student: It’s 105, Hoa Binh lane. . - Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. - Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. - Call on some pairs to role-play the dialogue in front of the class. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. 2

Task 2: Guided practice (information gap activity) Tell your partners where they live. - Have students think about their addresses (number of the house, the name of street .)and tell their classmates using “What’s your address? It’s ”/ Where do you live? I live .. - Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the other answers with facts about themselves and then exchange the roles. - Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. - Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. Activity 3: Wrap -up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (ask and answer about addresses using the sentence pattern “What’s your address? It’s ) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (show their interests and love to their friends by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about addresses. - Prepare for the next lesson. (Lesson 1: 4, 5, 6) D. White Street 4 the second floor Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Read and complete.) - Tell sts that they are going to read ad fill the gaps with the appropriate words. - Give sts few seconds to read the text in silence. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud each character’s lines respectively. Listen and circle a/ b - Have pupils read the sentences and phrases given - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 4 dialogues and circle the answers given about their city/ town. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and circle the correct answers. - Compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
