  2. Warm up: Greeting and play game ( Netword) - Greet the students. Then get the class to play game. Phu Quoc island Ha Long Bay Famous HCM city places - Lead students to the new lesson. Sam Son beach Activity 1: Language input 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask students to look at the four pictures (page 18) and answer questions to identify the situation for the conversation. 1. Who are they? (They are Linda and Nam) 2.What are they talking about? (talking about holiday) - Tell students that they are going to practise a conversation among Mai and Peter - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. - Ask students to look at pictures b, d (Activity 1) and answer the following questions: 4. What does Mai ask Peter?(Where did you go?) 5. How does Peter answer? (I went to Ha Long Bay) - Elicit the sentence patterns: Where did you go on holiday? – I went to _____. Activity 2: Full controlled &less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Use pictures to elicit: Ha Long Bay, Phu Quoc Island, Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Imperial City - Say aloud the words, then ask pupils to repeat the words a few times - Ask pupils to write down the structure into their notebook. - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about where someone went on his/her last holiday, using: * Structure: Where did you go on holiday? I went to ... - Have pupils practice asking and answering in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation. Task 2: Let’s talk: - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about their classmates’ past holidays. - Get pupils time to work in pairs to ask and answer, using the structure. - Invite a few pairs to act out their conversations in front of the class. - Give feedback.

Activity 1: Listen and match. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and draw lines to match each character to the correct picture. - Ask pupils to look at the pictures to identify the characters and their activities. - Play the recording the second time for pupils to listen and draw lines to match. - Ask pupils to give answers - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check - Give correct answers. II.Practice Task 1: Listen and write one word in each blank. - Have pupils read the sentences on page 21 of the Student Book. Elicit the identification of the sentences in the book and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and write one word about means of transport they hear. - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and number the boxes. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. Check comprehension. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Ask the class to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line until they are familiar with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and tune of the song. - Play the recording again and get pupils to sing along with the recording. - Divide the class into two groups: one group sings the first verse and the other sings the second.
