  1. Week: 11 Date of teaching: 26/11/2021 Period: 60 UNIT 10. WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY? Lesson 1 (1, 2) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about where the other speaker was the day before. - Sentence Patterns: Where were you yesterday? − I was ___. - Vocabulary: at home, at the zoo, on the beach, in the school library 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Love English - United friend 4. Forming competence: - To know talk about where they were. - Practise in pairs II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, projector 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. A .Warm-up Game: Shark attack Y E S T E R D A Y - Give feedback. - Lead in the new lesson. B. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Run through and set the sense. - Give instruction. - Play the recording all the way through. - Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat. - Divide class into 4 groups to read the dialogue and ask them to play roles.
  2. - Ask sts to do further practice in groups of 4. - Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues(provide some words: at home, at the zoo, on the beach) 2. Point and say - Ask sts to look at the pictures a, b, c and d. - Run through some words: swimming, cooking, colecting stamps, playing chess. - Use handmade puppets to teach: Where were you yesterday? I was at home. - Model the structure: T-sts; sts-T; S1-S2 - Have sts to look at the pictures and do the task in pairs then practise freely. - Move around to offer help. - Call on some pairs to perform the task. C. Reinforcement - Call sts to tell about where they were yesterday with their friends. - Comment. D. Knowledge: - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Read and complete the exchanges, using the pictures. - Sing the song Where were you yesterday? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality:

A.Warm-up. * Chatting: Ask sts to ask and answer questions about their past activity. - Give feedback. - Lead in the new lesson. B. New lesson. 1. Listen and tick: - Run through and set the scene. - Ask sts to look at the pictures and guess what are they saying. - Give instruction. - Play the recording for sts to listen through. - Play the recording again for sts to listen and tick the correct pictures. - Replay for sts to check their answers. - Ask sts to trade the answer. - Call on some sts to report. - Give feedback. *Keys: 1. Look and write. - Have sts look at the picures on page 65. - Ask sts what they have to do in this task. - Ask them to discuss and complete the blanks. - Call someone to write on the board. - Check and correct mistakes.

Let’s sing. - Introduce the song: where were you yesterday? - Read the lyrics. - Play the recording the song all the way through. - Have sts to repeat each line of the lyrics a few times. - Have sts to sing along. - Call a few sts to sing.
